Slow Burning Fire: Produced by legendary guitarist Jimmy Nalls, a founding member of Capricorn recording giants "Sea Level", guitarist for the Nighthawks and Dr. John; Nalls and Moore have assembled an all-star lineup of musicians that bring Moore's songs to life, all the way from the Delta, to Beale St., to Muscle Shoals! Rick Moore's apprenticeship with Don McMinn's Memphis Blues Revue (which included The Aces Jeff "Stick" Davis and Billy Earheart) set the stage for his first CD. The all-star lineup includes Jimmy Nalls of Sea Level and Dr. John, Reese Wynans from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff "Stick" Davis, co-founder of Grammy winning The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Wayne Jackson - world renown as half of the Memphis Horns. The lineup also includes local harp man William Howse and partime Aces drummer Mike Organ. Moore's first solo CD was acclaimed for it's soulful writing and performance with many critics comparing it to Delbert McClinton's Muscle Shoal recordings. It also was favorably recieved in Europe on the Music Network label. Success with this first release allowed Moore to follow later with his second CD "Satisfied" and the 2002 release "Live in the USA". |
