Byrd Burton - Byrd Braynz
Nashville, TN (July 8, 2002) - On July 30th, legendary guitar player and producer, Barry "Byrd" Burton will release his first instrumental solo CD. The forthcoming CD, titled Byrd Braynz, is a selection of new songs, Grammy winning hits from his former band, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, and some classic favorites.

Most commonly known as the guitar player/producer for the 70's country rock band, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Barry "Byrd" Burton began his lengthy career when legendary producer and studio guru, Sam Phillips hand-picked him to be a session player at his studio in Memphis, TN. He was engineering, producing and playing guitar on The Amazing Rhythm Aces' Stacked Deck album when they insisted he join the group on the road to promote the album.

Burton did sign on and produced and played on three more albums but eventually left the group in '78 for a life without hotel rooms and endless bus trips. He moved to Nashville and subsequently made a place for himself as a highly regarded session player and producer in Music Row's hustling recording community.

Through this connection, Burton was able to select some of the finest players in town to contribute to his solo outing.

Burton also carefully selected the tracks for the CD. In addition to his new self-written tracks, Burton hand-picked some classic personal favorites for the disc. "I wanted to include songs that have really meant something to me in my life. All of the cuts on the CD have such incredible melody and emotion. They all really work instrumentally. I couldn't be more proud of the way they turned out," said Burton.

Among those tracks are Grammy winners, "Third Rate Romance" and "The End Is Not In Sight" from the Rhythm Aces' song catalog. "I wanted to include these for the Aces fans and for them I tried to stay as true to the originals as I could. I even used the same guitars that I used then. I hope the fans enjoy them.

Byrd Braynz also features instrumentals of four of his personal favorite songs from throughout the years. "Vincent (Starry Starry Night)" by Don McLean, "If" by Bread, "Blue Bayou" made popular by Linda Ronstadt and Roy Orbison's haunting, "Crying" round out the disc.
